My Wallpaper. Fragments of a Lost Home is a large-scale wallpaper installation composed of photographic fragments documenting the destruction of Ukrainian cities caused by Russian missile and artillery attacks. Recorded in 2024, the images depict damaged interiors, shattered buildings, emptied streets, and traces of everyday life interrupted by war. Enlarged to an architectural scale, these fragments surround the viewer, transforming documentary material into an immersive domestic environment.

Integrated into the wallpaper are the artist's own paintings. Their presence is not decorative, but structural. They acknowledge the continuity of life and artistic practice within conditions of violence, where creation does not cease but exists alongside rupture. The juxtaposition makes visible the impossibility of separating beauty from pain, as fragments of war irreversibly enter personal space, memory, and daily experience.

Wallpaper, traditionally associated with comfort and routine, becomes a carrier of both trauma and persistence. The work introduces a layer of self-irony and the irony of lived reality, where the horrors of war slip into the role of background, absorbed into the visual language of the everyday. A large stopped clock embedded in the installation marks the moment of impact, when time is abruptly suspended. Rather than symbolising the past, it insists on the present tense of loss, reminding us that while destruction becomes part of the background, life and creativity continue within it.
